Buckwheat is a triangular, dark-hulled seed widely used as a grain component in bird feed. It supplies carbohydrates for energy together with dietary fibre and minerals, and is a regular ingredient in seed mixes for pigeons, parrots, parakeets and pheasants. Feed it as part of a varied diet rather than as the only feed, and always provide clean drinking water.
